We’re headed to Sage Transform in Orlando, FL next week and we’re rounding up the best things to do around the conference center. Of course, one of those things to do is to stop by Booth K5, where we’ll be talking about the latest version of the DATABASICS timesheets and expense reporting solution (and giving away some goodies to our booth visitors!).
The Conference
The event is taking place at the Orlando World Center Marriott, which boasts some beautiful grounds and a large event space. Reviewers say that the convention center is massive with multiple towers and might take a while to navigate. Several on-property places for food and drinks are often busy with other conference-goers and hotel guests, so factor in where you might get food. Reviewers also advise that sneakers or comfortable shoes would be recommended based on the size of this hotel since there will be a lot of walking.
There are two official hotels for the event: one is where the event is taking place at the Orlando World Center Marriott and the other is the Gaylord Palms Resort. Both hotels had blocks of rooms that are currently sold out. Transportation will be provided between the two hotels throughout the week.
Transportation & Parking

“The Orlando World Center Marriott is about a 25 min ride from the Orlando International Airport. The estimated Uber or Lyft fare is approximately $40-$45 each way.
The Gaylord Palms is about a 20 min ride from the Orlando International Airport. The estimated Uber or Lyft fare is approximately $35-$42 each way.
Neither hotel provides airport shuttle services.
The Gaylord Palms is around a 6-minute drive from the Marriott World Center. Sage will provide shuttle service between the two hotels during the conference dates.”
Reviewers also say it’s wise to plan ahead to drive to get to where you need to go if you’re off property.
There are both valet and self-parking options available, but both are paid. Self-parking is a little walk, but reviewers say it's not too bad; it’s mostly all under air conditioning with a convenient covered walkway to the garage, about a 5–7-minute walk from the garage to the hotel or you can wait for a shuttle.
Self-parking is $25/day Valet parking was $40/day. Reviewers report that parking is a little confusing as the self-park garage is at one end of the complex and the lobby at another, so first leave your bags and then go to the garage, park, and then catch the shuttle that takes you to the lobby.
Food and Drinks
The per diem rate for Orlando is $69, so be sure to check out some of the highly rated nearby restaurants, including some on-properties.
Starbucks
To start, yes, there is a large Starbucks on the property. However, you can anticipate that with a large population of Sage Intacct enthusiasts all lining up, the wait time will be significant.
Falls Pool Bar & Grill
This is an on-property poolside restaurant and it’s highly rated by guests. However, this bar can have limited open hours. Some guests keep going back for multiple meals because they enjoyed it so much. The shrimp nachos are recommended by several visitors.
High Velocity Sports Bar
When you're looking for a place to watch sports, High Velocity Sports Bar is the place to go; reviewers say that they have an energetic vibe, good service, and delicious food—even when they're crazy busy! Reviewers say that their food and drink options are top notch.
Stuff To Do
Nightly Laser Show
A great way to end the day is with the laser show! It's a fun way to mark the end of the day, and you can sit on the patio and watch it from there. Each night brings a new laser light show, which ends the day in style.
Lazy River
The hotel boasts a 575-foot-long lazy river winding through a tropical paradise. The conference events will probably keep you pretty busy, but if you have time, be sure to check out this leisurely ride down the lazy river. Reviewers report that it can be a challenge to find an empty tube at peak times, but it’s worth the ride.
Happy Hour
The conference happy hour will take place from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in the Neighborhood Expo, which is where we’ll be at Booth K5. Be sure to stop by for a chat about time and expense!
Downtown Disney
The conference is sponsoring the official Conference Party at Universal CityWalk from on Thursday night from 8 p.m.-11 p.m. The folks at DATABASICS will be attending, so it’s another great time to meet up.
