Rising Ebola Impact on Business Travel

Screening inbound passengers for the highly lethal Ebola virus has begun at Dulles International Airport (IAD), as well as four other major U.S. airports. And being the closest to our office, our own DATABASICS employees fly in and out of Dulles frequently.

At what point do we limit or restrict air travel to protect our employees?  We fully expect that Ebola will be contained here this time.  But how many more will contract Ebola before the immediate threat passes?  And what about other infectious diseases? Companies across the nation and the globe, including our own T&E customers, are struggling with the uncertainty of how to react to the rising threat.

Today, we have Homeland Security, the CDC, state and local authorities, the WHO (World Health Organization), and of course, the media providing us with often conflicting, confusing, and even false information.
